Seed’s Partnerships Support Channel works with each 2007 Award Winner over a period of 12 months to develop, and then implement a “Support Services Plan”. The implementation phase is underpinned by a small bursary.

The Seed Support Channel for the Seed Awards 2007 is currently run by The Collective Leadership Institute (CLI). CLI is based in Berlin, Germany, working with an international team of associates in Latin America and Africa.

Seed support responds to the needs that each individual partnership identifies. The specific support packages will therefore be unique, though might include some of the following elements:

Partnership building: helping the partners work together in the most effective and efficient way; mentoring individual partners; identifying problems and facilitating conflict resolution; improving balance and communication within the partnership; assisting with legal aspects and agreements etc.

Capacity development: providing tools, training, field trips to other successful programmes, technical assistance and access to experts to help the partnership implement its work programme; assistance with business plans, financial projections etc.

Opportunity building: facilitating access to funders and connections with local authorities, other organisations and programmes and potential new partners; running workshops to assist engagement of local stakeholders etc.

Profile raising. The Support Channel helps to publicize the partnerships, where appropriate, and attempts to leverage further support from other interested organisations.
